Horrible people can be cunning...

Those of you who have been reading some of my previous posts about scams etc. may not be surprised at the depths some folks go to to be horrible to other people.

The one I read that prompted this post was kind of new to me.

CBA (a bank for non-Australian readers) has found that people have been putting abusive messages in the transaction notes that people can enter with payments.

CBA was surprised at the scale of the problem after one customer complained.

To be clear, nasty people deposit as little as $1 dollar to the account of someone they want to abuse and then write all manner of nasty and threatening things in the description field.

Now I have sent people funny messages like this but never an abusive message.

This type of message has been used to sneak through to people in all sorts of pain and under all sorts of protection.

The good news is that the banks have acted swiftly to highlight and fix the issue.

Who would have thought? A good news bank story!!!
