[Update 27/03/20: Read this ASAP https://www.staysmartonline.gov.au/alert-service/widespread-reports-covid-19-malicious-scams-being-sent-australians]
As this crisis introduces a whole swathe of unknown scariness and forces us to be "online" more, the scammers are not resting.
As usual, the "unknowns" are being used to make us do things we may not otherwise do - visit web sites for information, follow new "rules", click on things that purport to be helping us.
More than ever, stop and think before you respond to ANY unsolicited communication.
No-one needs to be scammed as well as sick.
I won't repeat my generic advice, it is all in these posts here: https://www.ihatemypc.com.au/blog/categories/scams-spams-hoaxes-and-fraud
- STOP
- THINK
- CALL YOUR TRUSTED COMPUTER EXPERT FOR ADVICE
- DON'T IGNORE THE ADVICE
- DON'T COMMUNICATE WITH THE SCAMMERS IN ANY WAY.

P.S. While in Göttingen, Germany, with the whole Corona thing kicking off, I went into a scientific bookshop where they had various viruses for sale.
I Googled what the corona virus looked like and bought this fuzzy little guy whom my class named "Herr Covid".
He's actually a Rhino virus but looks close enough to me.
