I was watching an episode of QI a while back and saw a brilliant new thing.
It is called "What 3 Words".
It is a global location identification system and it can uniquely identify locations to a resolution of 3m squared using just 3 unique words.
This is where I am right now...well, when I wrote this...
As somebody who travels to customer sites in an English speaking country that appears to have very little imagination, I can't tell you how exciting it is to be able to unambiguously locate someone's location.
I can't tell you the number of times I have headed in completely the wrong direction because there are multiple instances of the same street name in the one city.
I only wish I'd known about this when I got thoroughly lost in Japan because their method of addressing properties is fundamentally different to the way it is done here.
Some countries have now adopted this as their new way of addressing deliveries to people.
I hope it catches on here...everywhere...
